ninety: bananas

This card took me a long time. Sometimes sketches just aren't made for cards :) I finally get to enter in the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge and I really enjoyed doing this sketch. This is also for Cooking with Cricut since it's Fall colors and it goes great with the stitching challenge at Delightful Sketches. And of course there just happen to be bananas for the the Food challenge with My Creative Time.

seventy nine: just because :)

I had a pretty productive day today. Finished 4 cards, washed the dishes, took the dogs to the dog park, and ran a few errands. I still have to do laundry though...The day went by fast and I don't wanna work tomorrow. But I could possibly get a full time, permanent job so fingers crossed. No more annoying calls early in the morning just to "confirm my availability".

Saw this dollar stamp in my stash and I thought it'd be perfect for one of those Create A Critters. And I was right!

Here's my entry to My Pink Stamper's color challenge in 30 minutes! It was super close but I made it! Would've been a little less stressful if my ATG gun decided to run out of tape AFTER I finished the card! Thank goodness for back up glue!!

sixty two: owl love

This is my first time doing a challenge with Frosted Designs. I find that I actually "doodle" or use my handwriting a lot on my projects. Mainly because I don't have the right stamps. And I would doodle even more but I feel like my handwriting has gone down the drain since I don't write much anymore :( I know it's a challenge now so I'm really trying to get my writing back in shape :)

WCMD: Warm Fuzzies

Fantabulous Cricut has a challenge regarding last month's National Sewing Month. I love it because all the material at JoAnn's goes on sale..perfect time to get ready for Halloween costumes!

The challenge is to use stitching whether it be faux or actual stitching. I would've used the sewing machine but a pet peeve of mine is switching out the stinkin' bobbin. It's just plain annoying so I used a white gel pen instead. Same effect :)

The flock didn't turn out so great. The cut was too big to fit in my little xyron runner and I just didn't know what other kind of glue to use. I have Martha Stewarts glue pad but it doesn't work well..I'll have to research a little more on that.


Overall, I really liked how this card turned out. Minus the flocking, this was a pretty simple card :)

fifty one: dino reader!

Just a simple dinosaur bookmark for the scrapbook I finished making for the people I use to nanny for. I wanted a bookmark to show where they left off. I made them a scrapbook in December of 08 and this summer added 1.5 years more to it :) They really appreciated it since they work all the time and I was their caregiver everyday for 2 years!

forty seven: zebra cakes

Have you ever had those? Zebra cakes? My boyfriend loves those. They are really sweet. Too sweet for me.

Just noticed how the zebra is almost washed out in the first photo..When I'm photographing outside, it's so darn bright that I can't see the image on my camera screen! I'll have to figure something out the next time..

forty six: nuts!

Finally uploaded this card. Actually I took photos of it earlier but you could see flaws. I don't know if it's just my cricut but lately it hasn't been cutting up to par. But actually, I'm wondering if its my Create A Critter cartridge because that's when I first noticed it's sloppyness..It never cuts the nose out perfectly. I'll have to inquire about that with ProvoCraft..

Anyway, here is my squirrel card. I would spend, as I'm sure many of us have, hours perfecting my penmanship in highschool. And it was pretty good. Since I have been a nanny for 2 years and now am semi unemployed (don't even get me started on that one), my handwriting has gone down hill and it is driving me nuts! I've been thinking of writing a journal lately just to improve it everyday but I'm sure that won't happen. At least since I have been blogging recently, my typing has improved since last year..I need to get back into the real world that makes me use my skills so I don't lose them again!

thirty one: birthday banner and origami

One little piece of origami led me to finding something new to make...sometimes it annoys me when that happens but I did end up finding this really pretty kusudama flower tutorial and ended up making these...


And since I had to pick up my little sister who's visiting a couple weeks, I decided to make her a little banner since her birthday was last week. So cheesy but it was so quick and fun!




Sorry for the horrible pictures. It was late at night because I often do things last minute. And I couldn't retake pictures in the morning because there was an incident with the couch being pulled out and the light bulb breaking..

Of course I'm using Create A Critter. I thought this was such a cute card, turned out great! This is for Challenge #12.

I am retiring for the day! It's late! 6 challenges after a late start, not bad I must say. We will see if I have time to take on a few more challenges tomorrow before I leave for Chicago...haven't finished packing though :/ oops!

eighteen 2: getting scrappy

Challenge #2 "Getting Scrappy" complete! I was stalled for awhile because the Census guy came a knockin'! Oops. I filled out the form but forgot to mail it in! Anywho...Using scraps was easy for me cuz I always use scraps...well I try to (somehow the scrap draw has been growing.) I just bought this dollar stamp and new exactly how I would create my card.



I dirtied him up with the ink pad so he could bathe in the pond :) I also tried this glossy accents product to make the water actually look wet.

seventeen: soft kitty

My sister has been singing this little song from The Big Bang Theory. So I decided to make her a little kitty to go along with it. I picked up this flocking powder and tried that for the first time. Trial and error, I ended up using Zig glue instead of the Martha Stewart glue pad, worked way better.



I'm a little bummed that the colors did not come out in these photos. Definitely does not do it justice.
