Blogger Award

I received my second blogger award almost a month ago (I am still catching up since Thanksgiving when my parents were in town. You really miss a lot in blogworld in just a weeks time!)

Thank you so much to Madison from funkycards for awarding me with this awesome award! I've been following her for awhile now and she always has such great work.

BTW, does anyone know how to get emailed about when people comment on a post? That's my problem, I never know till after the fact and that's why it took me nearly a month to figure out I had an award waiting for me :/

So here are the requirements:

1. Thank and link back to the person who awarded you this
2. Share 8 things about yourself
3. Pay it forward to 8 bloggers that you have recently discovered
4. Contact those bloggers and tell them about their awards

8 things about me:

1. I was born and raised in Hawaii.
2. I have 4 dogs, yes 4.
3. I teach 2 year olds (most challenging job ever)
4. I miss dancing hula.
5. My replacement cricut is defected. PC is on the naughty list for sure.
6. This is my second Christmas away from home. At least I have my sister with me.
7. I've been with my boyfriend for almost 7.5 years.
8. All I want for Christmas is Lasik eye surgery.

Now to pay it forward, here are some awesome blogs to check out:

Ayana from Ayana's Creations
Margie from Bella Bug Creations
Carol from Carol's Sweet Creations!
Tara from Each Moment, Only Once
Michelle from Holy Cricut!
Josy from Josy's Craft Corner
Kristin from Lilsweetpea's Place
Gale from The Happy Stamper :)

ninety: bananas

This card took me a long time. Sometimes sketches just aren't made for cards :) I finally get to enter in the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge and I really enjoyed doing this sketch. This is also for Cooking with Cricut since it's Fall colors and it goes great with the stitching challenge at Delightful Sketches. And of course there just happen to be bananas for the the Food challenge with My Creative Time.

eighty nine: lazy sunday

I forgot how tiring working full time can be! I've been exhausted these past 2 weeks. Hopefully this week I will officially be teaching at this school!

I started this card of with Paper Cutz's "Get Well Card" challenge. They required it to be a get well card, duh, with something flying. This led to joining in with Alphabet Challenge's "B is for Bird" and
Fantabulous Cricut's
"Bird Bonanza" challenges. To tie it all together it needed some embossing. That's where Made by Momo's "Embossing" and One Stop Craft Challenge's "Embossing" came into play. In the end, it all worked out great. This will be so sweet for someone who needs a little cheering up :)

eighty eight: stripes

Tried doing a collage type of thing. It was quite tricky. Still on the fence if I like it or not. I'll attempt the same technique again one of these days. I'll enter it into One Stop Craft's "Anything Goes" challenge. I found this challenge blog hopping around :)

Got this cute idea from Card Maker magazine, September 2010 issue. It was designed by Sandra Wyssmann. This was when I was cricutless. I thought it came out really cute and really had fun making it. Entering this into Fantabulous Cricut's and Paper Playtime's challenge.

eighty three: but you

Polka Dots for Imagine Nation Monday. Here's my patterned paper polka dots since I don't have a real Imagine. And frankly I'm getting a little annoyed with Provo Craft for not responding to me about this faulted cricut they sent me last week. Very annoyed.

seventy nine: just because :)

I had a pretty productive day today. Finished 4 cards, washed the dishes, took the dogs to the dog park, and ran a few errands. I still have to do laundry though...The day went by fast and I don't wanna work tomorrow. But I could possibly get a full time, permanent job so fingers crossed. No more annoying calls early in the morning just to "confirm my availability".

Saw this dollar stamp in my stash and I thought it'd be perfect for one of those Create A Critters. And I was right!

seventy eight: hello sketch

Another great Card Pattern sketch challenge. Although most times sketches are easier, this simple sketch was a little difficult. I guess that's why they are called challenges right? :)

seventy seven: tink!

I've decided to join this challenge from Erin Lee Creative. I'm glad I did cuz boy was it a challenge :) The challenge was to make something sassy. What better time to use my Tinkerbell cartridge. I LOVE Tinkerbell. It's one of the first carts that I bought..but this is only my second time using it. That girl is hard to make! Definitely would be good for large images, like wall art or maybe even layouts..not so much for cards.

And sadly, I think my brand new cricut, is sick. I don't want to have to go another 2 weeks without my cricut again but it makes metal grinding noises and got all crazy on me. I wish Provo Craft had a 24 hour hotline. Don't they know we craft 24/7??

seventy six: MPS color challenge

Here's my entry to My Pink Stamper's color challenge in 30 minutes! It was super close but I made it! Would've been a little less stressful if my ATG gun decided to run out of tape AFTER I finished the card! Thank goodness for back up glue!!

seventy five: merci

Here's my take on Card Patterns sketch 86. Super fun! This Summer of Paris cartridge really frustrates me. The designs are soo delicate that I can't figure out the settings for the cricut. Any suggestions?

Incorporating a number of challenges: Emma's Throwback Thursday using and older cartridge and an animal. Along with a stamped sentiment for the Imagination challenge. And My Pink Stampers RAK challenge because I will be sending this card to Madison, age 6. It's been all the buzz that she has a second come back of cancer and wishes for lots of cards. Help make her wishes come true :) Find out more here.

is today my birthday or what?!?

I got home from work and found not one, not two, but THREE packages!

The first was from Cricut Diaries. I won an I-ROCK from the Think Pink Blog Hop! Sooo excited to use it!

Second package was from Heidi from Got Scraps from the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog hop. She was soo sweet to add a few other items because she sent it to me late because she had car problems! She is way too sweet and it was so unnecessary but soo kind of her.

And last but definitely not least....my long awaited...PINK CRICUT!!! It's here, it's finally here! Not only that, it came with the Pink cartridge!! I originally bought my Pink Cricut off Ebay. The lady who purchased it only wanted it for the cartridge. I just wanted the Pink Cricut, cuz hello, I have no idea where I was when they released that! But Provo Craft actually gave me a brand new Pink Cricut with the extra cartridges! Perfect for Breast Cancer Awareness month too. Probably the best thing of all is that I have my cricut and it cuts beautifully! No more crazy cuts that don't connect :) Oh I am in heaven. I'm even skipping my tv shows tonight (recording them of course) just so I can play. Oh how I've missed her.

And I'm back in the game!

seventy three: miss you card sketch

Another new-to-me blog is Priscillastyles The Midnight Madness design team is really talented. I'm really liking these sketch challenges. That's half the battle with me, figuring out a sketch. Makes crafting that much easier :)

seventy two: ducks in a row

Stumbled upon this blog, Cooking with Cricut. They have some really great talent there! This is a 'Love' Challenge. I most likely would've used Create A Critter cartridge, if I had a Cricut. My paper cutter is my next best tool :)

*Photos suck because of the rain, I'm stuck inside. Sorry!*

seventy one: candy!

Imagine-Nation Wednesday at My Pink Stamper. Challenge is to make a Fall or Halloween project. No I don't have an Imagine (oh I can only dream of the day I can afford one) and now I don't even have a stinkin' Cricut! Provocraft is really buggin me. If I don't get it next week, I will cry. Enough pity..

In any case, here is a little Halloween gift card with the best machine of all, my hands :) I love candy!!

seventy: something cute

It's countdown time, till Karlee visits My Pink Stamper! To celebrate she is doing giveaways all week! This challenge was super simple..make something cute! And I recycled :) I made these T-slider cards but they didn't turn out so well so I saved what I could to make thank you cards for the OWH.

*Poor pictures due to no sunlight because it's been raining all day!*

sixty nine: thank you fall

There's a new blog in town and it's starting to really come together. Check out Pixel Layne Studio. She has some fun things stirring up there. Here is an entry to her celebrating of 1000 hits already! (Sorry again for the horrible picture, it's still raining here and the lighting is just terrible inside)

sixty eight: mele kalikimaka!

I received this cute little santa image from a challenge I won in August. With this cold weather here in San Diego, it was quite fitting to make a winter card :) This is an entry for the challenge at Creations by Christie. This is one of several cards I will be sending to Operation Write Home. It is such a great cause and I hope you can all send out cards to these heroes.

sixty six: Halloween treat

This is my first time doing The Cuttlebug Spot challenge. I had to get a Cuttlebug when I saw it and then when I saw there was a pink one, I was sold. But I want to start incorporating it more frequently in my day to day creations. I'm hoping The Cuttlebug Spot will help keep me in check!

I made this Halloween treat holder using this 2-5-7-10 Box tutorial from Splitcoaststampers (I love this site!).

Ingredients:

Ribbon
Foam stamps
Ink
Silver Sharpie

sixty five: orange you glad

Another PaperPlaytime challenge. Using the color orange as the main color and STILL cricutless, I found this computer paper I bought years ago with these pumpkins on it. Snip, stick, and sparkle, here is my card :)

sixty four: felt

I love finding new blogs. They give so much inspiration! Embellish Magazine has a challenge going on using felt. I love felt! But I never really think of using it on paper. This was such a fun challenge.

sixty three: thankful

I was about to enter this into the Cricut Cardz Challenge but realized I didn't use a cricut because I am STILL cricutless. I hope I get it in the next couple days.. None the less, I had a lot of fun making this turkey. I think he came out so cute. Being cricutless sure has brought me back to the good ol' days of truly handmaking things. I love it!

sixty two: owl love

This is my first time doing a challenge with Frosted Designs. I find that I actually "doodle" or use my handwriting a lot on my projects. Mainly because I don't have the right stamps. And I would doodle even more but I feel like my handwriting has gone down the drain since I don't write much anymore :( I know it's a challenge now so I'm really trying to get my writing back in shape :)
